MY CANADA stands for Motivated Young People for a Strong Canada.

MY CANADA is not affiliated with any political party.

MY CANADA is faith based but nondenominational, we are a group of young leaders in Canada from many Christian perspectives that have a heart to walk in unity for a greater purpose: Seeing the Dominion of Canada make choices which will lead to a strong Canada for generations to come (our generation and our children's).

MY CANADA is committed to educating young Canadians on how they can shape Canada in a positive way for generations to come and practically mobilizing them to do it! This includes:

• educating young Canadians on some of the legislative issues facing the nation today
• educating young Canadians on how they can be a part of shaping Canada through voting, volunteering and engaging in democracy
• helping to bridge the gap and connect young Canadians with their Members to share their hearts on the things they care about and serve them in practical ways (like working in their offices and campaigns)

Bill C-268: Mandatory-Minimum - Joy Smith, MP from Kildonan-St. Pauls tabled a Private Members' Bill on Human Trafficking that would create a minimum prison sentence of five years for anyone convicted of trafficking a person under eighteen years of age. It passed through the House of Commons on September 30th, 2009 and is now in the Senate. Joy Smith also had a Policy Resolution pass unanimously at the Conservative Policy Convention that called for the Conservative party to make the ending of human trafficking one of their priorities.

C-268 is now in the Senate! Please contact the Senators in your province and ask them to support mandatory minimums for trafficking minors. (Note: Unlike Members of Parliament, you do not have one single Senator that represents you - Senators are assigned to provinces, not ridings. So you can contact all the Senators in your province because they all represent you.
